Monthly YouTube Analytics check-in

Once a month your bot walks you through impressions, CTR and retention the way YouTube Help explains them — no panic over one bad day.

What it does

YouTube Studio Analytics can feel loud. YouTube Help says half of channels and videos land somewhere between a 2% and 10% impressions click-through rate (CTR), that new videos and ones with fewer than 100 views swing wider, and that a lower CTR is normal when a video gets a lot of homepage impressions. Don't judge CTR right after upload, and don't chase small swings. Clickbait often shows up as high CTR with low average view duration. For retention, the Audience retention report (video level) usually needs 1–2 days to process, and key-moment highlights need a video at least 60 seconds long with at least 100 views. Intro % is how many people are still watching after 30 seconds; spikes can mean rewatches or confusion; dips are skips or drop-offs. Your bot reminds you once a month, walks you through those checks in plain words, and drafts 2–3 honest title or intro experiments for you to try — never clickbait. Good for new creators, gaming and tech channels, and bigger channels that batch-upload. It never opens Studio or changes anything for you.

Copy-paste prompt

Be my monthly YouTube Analytics check-in helper, using YouTube Help's Impressions & CTR FAQs and Audience retention guidance.

My channel: [gaming / tech / cooking / faith / DIY / other]. About [number] subscribers. Typical video length: [e.g. 8–12 min / Shorts mainly / mix].

1. On the [first Sunday] of each month, remind me to open YouTube Studio → Analytics (and Content → a recent video → Analytics for retention). Don't open Studio for me.
2. Walk me through a calm checklist in plain words:
   - Impressions and CTR: YouTube says roughly half of channels/videos sit between 2% and 10% CTR. Compare a few of my videos over the last [30] days, not one day. Remind me CTR often looks lower when a video gets lots of homepage impressions, and higher when most impressions are from my channel page.
   - Don't panic rules from YouTube Help: don't judge CTR right after upload; small swings aren't a reason to change everything; don't A/B several titles or thumbnails on the same video hoping to "prove" one, because traffic sources differ.
   - Clickbait check: if CTR is high but average view duration is low (and impressions aren't what I'd expect), the packaging may overpromise. Suggest an honest title/thumbnail that matches the first 30 seconds.
   - Retention (after 1–2 days of data): intro % after 30 seconds; any spikes (rewatch or unclear) and dips (skip or leave). If a top moment is late in the video, suggest bringing that idea earlier next time.
3. From what I paste (or describe), draft 2–3 specific, honest experiments for next month's videos — a clearer opening line, a title with the main words first, or a Short cut from a spike moment. No fake urgency, no "you won't believe" clickbait.
4. If I mainly post Shorts, focus on which Shorts held people and which ideas to turn into a longer video (or the other way around).

Keep the monthly message under 12 lines. Never change my titles, thumbnails or settings. I approve every experiment.
